Emergency First Aid Measures
Critical first aid procedures for chemical exposure incidents and medical emergencies
๐ซ Inhalation Exposure
Move the victim to fresh air. Keep patient warm and at rest. If breathing is labored, administer oxygen. If unconscious, place in recovery position and get medical attention immediately. Keep respiratory tract clear. Loosen tight clothing such as a collar, tie, belt or waistband.
Symptoms:
If breathing is labored. Symptoms may be delayed.
๐๏ธ Skin Contact
Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash skin immediately with plenty of water and soap. Subsequent cleansing with polyethyleneglycol 400, then again with water and soap.
Symptoms:
May cause an allergic skin reaction. Blueness of lips, skin or nails (cyanosis).
๐๏ธ Eye Contact
Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 10 minutes. Remove contact lenses. Protect unharmed eye. Keep eye wide open while rinsing. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.
Symptoms:
Serious eye irritation.
๐ฝ๏ธ Ingestion/Swallowing
Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth, ingest activated charcoal. If vomiting occurs, the head should be kept low so that vomit does not enter the lungs.
Symptoms:
Harmful if swallowed.
๐จ Immediate Medical Attention Required
Get medical attention immediately. If unconscious, place in recovery position and get medical attention immediately. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist. Get medical attention.
Medical Treatment
Elementary aid, decontamination, symptomatic treatment and depending on the formation of methaemoglobin: intravenous administration of toluidine blue or other redox dyes according to dosage specifications plus ascorbic acid.

๐ญ Engineering Controls
If user operations generate dust, fumes, gas, vapour or mist, use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep worker exposure to airborne contaminants below any recommended or statutory limits.
๐งค Hand Protection
Material : Fluorinated rubber - FKM Break through time : >= 8 h Glove thickness : >= 0,4 mm Wearing time : < 60 min Material : Butyl rubber - IIR Break through time : >= 8 h Glove thickness : >= 0,5 mm Wearing time : < 60 min Remarks : The suitability for a specific workplace should be discussed with the producers of the protective gloves. After contamination with product change the gloves immediately and dispose of them according to relevant national and local regulations
๐๏ธ Eye Protection
Tightly fitting safety goggles Wear face-shield and protective suit for abnormal processing problems.
๐ท Respiratory Protection
In the case of vapour formation use a respirator with an approved filter. Wear breathing apparatus with separate air supply (compressed air respirator, tube apparatus) at higher concentrations. Filter type : Combined particulates and organic vapour type (A-P) P3 filter
๐ฆบ Skin/Body Protection
Complete suit protecting against chemicals Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.
