First Aid

Emergency First Aid Measures

Critical first aid procedures for chemical exposure incidents and medical emergencies

Inhalation Exposure

Ingestion/Swallowing

Zoveel mogelijk water laten drinken. Braken niet opwekken als de arts daartoe niet uitdrukkelijk toestemming heeft gegeven.

Exposure Controls & Personal Protective Equipment

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and required safety equipment

Engineering Controls

For good ventilation at the workplace, effective local exhaust ventilation must be provided.

Hand Protection

Protect hands with work gloves category III (ref. standard EN 374). For the final choice of work gloves, compatibility, degradation, breakthrough time, and permeation must be considered. In the case of preparations, the resistance of the work gloves must be checked before use, as this is not predictable. The wear duration of the gloves depends on the duration and manner of use.

Eye Protection

It is advisable to use a face shield with a hood or a face shield in combination with hermetically sealed goggles (ref. standard EN 166).

Respiratory Protection

If the threshold limit value (e.g., TLV-TWA) of the substance or of one or more substances present in the product is exceeded, it is recommended to use a mask with an AX type filter, whose usage limit is indicated by the manufacturer (ref. standard EN 14387). In the presence of gases or vapors of different types and/or gases or vapors with particles (aerosols, smoke, mist, etc.), combination filters should be used. The use of respiratory protective equipment is necessary when the applied technical measures are not sufficient to limit worker exposure to the relevant threshold values. The protection offered by masks is limited in any case. If the substance concerned is odorless or its odor threshold is above the corresponding TLV-TWA, and in any case in emergencies, use an independent compressed air breathing apparatus with an open circuit (ref. standard EN 137) or a self-priming hose mask (ref. standard EN 138). For the correct choice of respiratory protective equipment, consult standard EN 529.

Skin/Body Protection

Wear long-sleeved work clothing and safety footwear for professional use category II (ref. EEC Directive 89/686 and standard EN ISO 20344). Wash with soap and water after removing clothing.
