Emergency First Aid Measures
Critical first aid procedures for chemical exposure incidents and medical emergencies
๐ซ Inhalation Exposure
Onder normale gebruiksomstandigheden is behandeling niet nodig. Indien symptomen aanhouden, medisch advies inwinnen.
๐๏ธ Skin Contact
Verontreinigde kleding uitdoen.
๐๏ธ Eye Contact
Spoel het oog uit met grote hoeveelheden water. Contactlenzen verwijderen, indien mogelijk. Blijven spoelen. Bij blijvende irritatie medische hulp inroepen.
๐ฝ๏ธ Ingestion/Swallowing
๐จ Immediate Medical Attention Required
Indien symptomen aanhouden, medisch advies inwinnen (inhalation). Bij blijvende irritatie medische hulp inroepen (skin, eyes). Zijn er echter zeer grote hoeveelheden ingeslikt, dan dient men medisch advies in te winnen (ingestion).
Medical Treatment

๐ญ Engineering Controls
The level of protection and the type of measures required depend on the potential exposure conditions. Choose the type of measures based on the risk assessment under local conditions. Suitable measures include: Adequate ventilation to control airborne concentrations. If material is heated or sprayed or if mist forms, the likelihood of airborne concentrations being generated is higher.
๐งค Hand Protection
If hand contact with the product may occur, the use of gloves conforming to relevant standards (in Europe: EN374, in the US: F739) can provide sufficient chemical protection if they are made of the following materials: PVC, neoprene, or nitrile rubber gloves. The suitability and durability of a glove depend on its use, e.g., the number of contacts and the duration of contact, and the degree of chemical resistance of the glove material, and skill. Always ask for advice from glove suppliers. Contaminated gloves should be replaced. Personal hygiene is very important for effective hand care. Wear gloves only over clean hands. After using gloves, hands should be thoroughly washed and dried. The use of unscented moisturizing cream is recommended. For continuous contact, we recommend gloves with a breakthrough time of more than 240 minutes, with a preference for more than 480 minutes in cases where suitable gloves can be identified. For short-term or splash protection, we recommend the same, but are aware that suitable gloves offering this level of protection may not be available, and in that case, a shorter breakthrough time may be acceptable as long as applicable maintenance and timely replacement procedures are followed. The thickness of the gloves is not a good measure of the gloves' resistance to a chemical, as this depends on the exact composition of the material from which the gloves are made. The thickness of the gloves should generally be greater than 0.35 mm, depending on the model and material of the gloves.
๐๏ธ Eye Protection
If the material is handled in such a way that it could splash into the eyes, protective eye protection is recommended. Approved according to EU standard EN166.
๐ท Respiratory Protection
Under normal conditions of use, respiratory protection is usually not required. In accordance with good industrial hygiene practices, precautions should be taken to prevent inhalation of the material. When engineering controls cannot maintain airborne concentrations at an adequate level to protect worker health, select respiratory protective equipment suitable for the specific conditions of use and complying with relevant legislation. Check suitability with the supplier of respiratory protective equipment. If air-purifying respiratory protection is possible, select a suitable mask and filter combination. Select a combination filter suitable for particles/organic gases and vapors [Type A/Type P boiling point > 65C (149F)] that complies with EN14387 and EN143.
๐ฆบ Skin/Body Protection
Usually no further skin protection than standard work clothing is required. It is advisable to wear chemical-resistant gloves.
๐ Environmental Exposure Controls
Take appropriate measures to comply with environmental protection legislation requirements. Prevent environmental contamination by following the advice in Section 6. If necessary, prevent the discharge of (un)dissolved material into wastewater. Wastewater must be treated in municipal or industrial wastewater treatment plants before being discharged into surface water. Local guidelines for emission limits for volatile substances must be observed when exhaust gases containing vapors are released.
