Noot B : Sommige stoffen (zoals zuren en basen) worden als waterige oplossingen met uiteenlopende concentraties op de markt gebracht en deze oplossingen moeten derhalve, al naar het aan iedere concentratie verbonden gevaar, anders worden ingedeeld en getiketteerd. Wanneer in deel 3 noot B wordt vermeld, wordt een algemene benaming gebruikt zoals: salpeterzuur %. In dat geval moet de leverancier op het etiket de concentratie in procenten vermelden. Tenzij dit anders wordt vermeld, wordt aangenomen dat de concentratie is berekend op basis van het gewichtspercentage.
First Aid Measures
Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents
Breng het slachtoffer in de frisse lucht, op een rustige plek, halfliggend, pas indien nodig kunstmatige ademhaling toe en raadpleeg dringend een arts.
Product bevat vrije fluoriden. Onmiddellijk arts raadplegen. Ten minste 15 minuten spoelen met veel water. Indien aanwezig, huid onderdompelen in gekoelde 0,13% benzalkoniumchloride oplossing of huid inmasseren met 2,5% calciumgluconaatgel. Beperk het spoelen tot 5 minuten als deze speciale behandeling voor de huid aanwezig is. Brandwonden t.g.v. fluorwaterstofzuur dienen altijd door een specialist behandeld te worden.
Symptoms: Bij aanraking met verdunde oplossingen kunnen er vertraagd duidelijk zichtbare en pijnlijke brandwonden ontstaan.
Hulp van oogarts direct vereist. Ogen minimaal 15 minuten met veel water spoelen, indien aanwezig (en er niet onmiddellijk een arts beschikbaar is) druppel 1-2 druppels 0,5% tetracaine hydrochloride oplossing in de ogen, na korte inwerking opnieuw aanhoudend spoelen. Gebruik geen oplossingen die bestemd zijn voor het behandelen van de huid.
Gekwalificeerde medische hulp vereist! Geen braken opwekken. Indien aanwezig kan als antacidum magnesiumhydroxide (magnesiummelk) of 200 ml calciumgluconaat 4% gegeven worden. Indien niet aanwezig melk of water.

Zorg voor een goede ventilatie van de werkplek.
Chemicaliebestendige veiligheidshandschoenen (EN 374). Geschikte materialen bij kort contact resp. spatten (geadviseerd: ten minste beschermindex 2, overeenstemmend met > 30 minuten permeatietijd volgens EN 374): polychloropreen (CR; 0,5 mm laagdikte). De gegevens zijn gebaseerd op literatuurgegevens en informatie van handschoenfabrikanten of zijn door analogie van soortgelijke stoffen afgeleid. Er dient ermee rekening te worden gehouden dat de gebruiksduur van een chemicaliehandschoen in de praktijk op grond van vele invloedfactoren (bv temperatuur) aanzienlijk korter dan de volgens EN 374 berekende permeatietijd kan zijn. Bij slijtageverschijnsels moet de handschoen worden vervangen.

Zorg voor een plaatselijke luchtafvoer of algemene ventilatie van de ruimte, om nevel- en/of dampconcentraties tot een minimum te beperken. Indien door gebruik blootstelling door inademing mogelijk is, wordt ademhalingsbescherming aanbevolen. Gasmasker met filtertype E/P3
zuurbestendige kleding. Bij handmatige sproeitoepassing: zuurbestendig overdrukpak met externe zuurstofaanvoer.
