First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Move the exposed person to fresh air at once. Perform artificial respiration if breathing has stopped. Keep the affected person warm and at rest. Get prompt medical attention.

Skin contact

Preapply wash contaminated skin with soap or mild detergent and water. Preapply remove clothing if washed through and wash to above.

Eye contact

Preapply wash eyes with hot or water while lifting the eye lid. Continue to rinse for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention.

Ingestion

Store mouth thoroughly. DO NOT induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Use water spray, fog or mist, carbon dioxide (CO2), foam

Specific hazards

Do not explosive mixtures with air. Extremely flammable. May explode in a fire. May cause considerable distance to source of ignition and flash back.

Instructions

Water may be ineffective but use to keep fire-exposed containers cool. If a leak or spill has not ignited, use water spray to disperse vapours and protect skin stopping the leak. Water spray may be used to flush spills away and dilute spills to non-flammable mixtures. Use water spray to reduce vapours. WARN FIRE FIGHTERS THAT AEROSOLS ARE INVOLVED

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Cleanup methods

Absorb in vermiculite, dry sand or earth and place into containers. Collect and contain or dispose of sealed containers in licensed waste. Provide ventilation and oxidize spill.

Materials: vermiculite, dry sand or earth
