First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

In case of accident by inhalation: remove casualty to fresh air and keep at rest. In case of respiratory tract irritation, consult a physician.

Skin contact

Gently wash with plenty of soap and water. In case of skin irritation, seek medical treatment.

Eye contact

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. In case of troubles or persistent symptoms, consult an ophthalmologist.

Ingestion

No special measures are necessary.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Carbon dioxide (CO2). Dry extinguishing powder. alcohol resistant foam. Atomized water.

Unsuitable media

High power water jet

Specific hazards

Can be released in case of fire: Gases/vapours, irritant.

Instructions

Co-ordinate fire-fighting measures to the fire surroundings.

Firefighter Protection

In case of fire: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

See protective measures under point 7 and 8

07

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Storage

Store in a dry place. Protect against: Light. UV-radiation/sunlight. heat. Humidity

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Dust should be exhausted directly at the point of origin.

Hands

Gloves recommended for protection against mechanical impact. Suitable gloves type: leather gloves.

Eyes

Dust protection goggles.

Respiratory

With correct and proper use, and under normal conditions, breathing protection is not required. Respiratory protection necessary at: - exceeding exposure limit values - insufficient ventilation and Generation/formation of dust Suitable respiratory protective equipment: particulates filter device (DIN EN 143). Type: P1-3 The filter class must be suitable for the maximum contaminant concentration (gas/vapour/aerosol/particulates) that may arise when handling the product. If the concentration is exceeded, self-contained breathing apparatus must be used. Observe the wear time limits according GefStoffV in combination with the rules for using respiratory protection apparatus (BGR 190).

Skin/Body

Product at ambient temperature (dust): Long-sleeved coveralls, work boots. Minimum standard for preventive measures while handling with working materials are specified in the TRGS 500.

Environmental

No special precautionary measures are necessary.
