First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical attention if symptoms appear.

Skin contact

In case of contact, immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse. Thoroughly clean shoes before reuse. Get medical attention immediately.

Eye contact

In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention immediately.

Ingestion

Do NOT induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If large quantities of this material are swallowed, call a physician immediately.

Immediate Medical Attention

Get medical attention immediately for skin and eye contact. Call a physician immediately if large quantities are swallowed.

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Use water spray, fog or foam.

Unsuitable media

Do not use water jet.

Specific hazards

No specific hazard. This material is toxic to aquatic organisms.

Firefighter Protection

Fire fighters should wear appropriate protective equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) with a full facepiece operated in positive pressure mode.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Immediately contact emergency personnel. If emergency personnel are unavailable, contain spilled material.

Small spill

For small spills add absorbent (soil may be used in the absence of other suitable materials) scoop up material and place in a sealed, liquid-proof container for disposal.

Large spill

For large spills dike spilled material or otherwise contain material to ensure runoff does not reach a waterway.

Environmental

Avoid dispersal of spilled material and runoff and contact with soil, waterways, drains and sewers.

Cleanup methods

scoop up material and place in a sealed, liquid-proof container for disposal.

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid contact of spilled material and runoff with soil and surface waterways. Wash thoroughly after handling.

Storage

Keep container tightly closed. Keep container in a cool, well-ventilated area.

Hygiene

Wash thoroughly after handling.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Provide exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep the airborne concentrations of vapors below their respective occupational exposure limits.

Hands

Chemical-resistant, impervious gloves or gauntlets complying with an approved standard should be worn at all times when handling chemical products if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary. Recommended, Latex gloves. Nitrile gloves.

Eyes

Safety eyewear complying with an approved standard should be used when a risk assessment indicates this is necessary to avoid exposure to liquid splashes, mists or dusts. Recommended, Safety glasses.

Respiratory

Use a properly fitted, air-purifying or air-fed respirator complying with an approved standard if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary. Respirator selection must be based on known or anticipated exposure levels, the hazards of the product and the safe working limits of the selected respirator. Respiratory protection: When using a liquid based on organic compound: - Recommended for organic vapour (type A) When using a dry powder: - Recommended for particulate filters (type P)

Skin/Body

Personal protective equipment for the body should be selected based on the task being performed and the risks involved and should be approved by a specialist before handling this product. Recommended, Protective Clothing (e.g. lab coat)
