First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Move affected person to fresh air and keep warm and at rest in a position comfortable for breathing.

Symptoms: Irritation of nose, throat and airway.

Skin contact

Wash with plenty of water. Get medical attention if irritation persists after washing.

Symptoms: Causes skin irritation. Prolonged and frequent contact may cause redness and irritation.

Eye contact

Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Remove any contact lenses and open eyelids wide apart. Continue to rinse. Get medical attention immediately.

Symptoms: Severe irritation, burning and tearing. Prolonged contact causes serious eye and tissue damage.

Ingestion

Do not induce vomiting. Give plenty of water to drink. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

Symptoms: May cause discomfort if swallowed.

Immediate Medical Attention

Get medical attention immediately (for eye contact), get medical attention if irritation persists after washing (for skin), get medical attention if any discomfort continues (for ingestion).

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.
