Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Give oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Remove person to fresh air. If signs/symptoms continue, get medical attention.

Skin contact

Wash off with warm water and soap.

Eye contact

Flush eyes with water as a precaution. Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and consult a physician.

Ingestion

Do NOT induce vomiting. Obtain medical attention. Do not induce vomiting. If conscious, give 2 glasses of water. Get immediate medical attention.

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Maintain air concentrations below occupational exposure standards.

Hands

Gloves should be discarded and replaced if there is any indication of degradation or chemical breakthrough. Impervious gloves. Request information on glove permeation properties from the glove supplier.

Eyes

Safety glasses with side-shields.

Respiratory

Dust safety masks are recommended when the dust concentration is more than 10 mg/m3. Respirator must be worn if exposed to dust. Use the indicated respiratory protection if the occupational exposure limit is exceeded and/or in case of product release (dust).
