First Aid Measures
Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents
Remove to fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Cool skin rapidly with cold water after contact with molten material. Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water while removing all contaminated clothes and shoes.
Symptoms: irritation develops and persists
Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention immediately.
Do NOT induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water. Obtain medical attention.
Immediate Medical Attention
Immediate medical attention required for eye contact. Medical attention required if irritation develops and persists (skin contact), if symptoms persist (inhalation), or if symptoms appear (general).
Medical Treatment
The first aid procedure should be established in consultation with the doctor responsible for industrial medicine. For specialist advice physicians should contact the Poisons Information Service. Treat symptomatically.
Firefighting Measures
Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection
Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.
High volume water jet
Burning produces noxious and toxic fumes.
Cool containers/tanks with water spray.
Firefighter Protection
In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Use personal protective equipment.
Accidental Release Measures
Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection
No action shall be taken involving any personal risk or without suitable training. Keep unnecessary and unprotected personnel from entering. Do not touch or walk through spilt material. Remove all sources of ignition. Do not breathe vapours or spray mist. Provide adequate ventilation. In case of inadequate ventilation wear respiratory protection. Use personal protective equipment.
Prevent product from entering drains. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.
Dam up. Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Sweep up and shovel. Pick up and transfer to properly labelled containers. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.
Materials: inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust)

Handling and Storage
Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Use with adequate ventilation. Keep container tightly closed. Remove all sources of ignition.
Do not store together with oxidizing and self-igniting products. Keep container tightly closed. Keep in a well-ventilated place. Keep away from heat. Stable under recommended storage conditions.
Wash hands, forearms and face thoroughly after handling chemical products, before eating, smoking and using the lavatory and at the end of the working period. Appropriate techniques should be used to remove potentially contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated clothing before reusing. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.
Normal measures for preventive fire protection.
Exposure Controls / PPE
Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment
Use with adequate ventilation. Local ventilation is needed in the presence of airborne mists.
Material: Nitrile rubber Wearing time: < 60 min Remarks: Impervious gloves Gloves should be discarded and replaced if there is any indication of degradation or chemical breakthrough. Request information on glove permeation properties from the glove supplier.
Safety glasses with side-shields
In case of mist, spray or aerosol exposure wear suitable personal respiratory protection and protective suit. In the case of vapour formation use a respirator with an approved filter.
Wear suitable protective clothing. Chemical resistant apron Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.
