First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove victim to fresh air. Keep airways free. Apply mechanical ventilation, if necessary also oxygen.

Skin contact

Remove contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated skin with soap and water.

Eye contact

Immediately wash out with plenty of water with the eyelid held wide open.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth. Do not induce vomiting.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Dry chemical, water spray, foam, carbon dioxide.

Unsuitable media

Waterjet.

Specific hazards

If involved in a fire, it may emit gases which are dangerous for health and toxic fumes. Vapours may form explosive mixtures with air above flashpoint temperature. Flammable liquid may float on water. Vapours may be heavier than air and may spread against the floor (Ignition from a distance possible).

Firefighter Protection

In case of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes. A self-contained breathing apparatus should be used to avoid inhalation of the product. Wear suitable protective clothing.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Small spill

Absorb in sand or other inert material.

Large spill

Clean up only under supervision of an expert.

Environmental

Do not allow to enter sewage system.

Cleanup methods

Collect spilled material.

Materials: sand or other inert material

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Use only in well-ventilated areas. Handle and open container with care. Do not breathe gas/fumes/vapour/spray. Local exhaust required. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. When using do not smoke. Use personal protective equipment as described in section 8.

Storage

Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Keep container dry. Keep away from heat. Store in fireproof location. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking.

Hygiene

When using do not smoke.

Fire prevention

Take precautionary measures against static discharges. When using do not smoke. Keep away from heat. Store in fireproof location. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Provide exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep the airborne concentrations of vapours below their respective occupational exposure limits. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.

Hands

Chemical resistant gloves.

Eyes

Splash goggles.

Respiratory

Vapour respirator or self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).

Skin/Body

Synthetic apron.
