First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. IF INHALED: if breathing is difficult, remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If breathing stops, give artificial respiration. In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical attention.

Skin contact

After contact with skin, take off immediately all contaminated clothing, and wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. If skin irritation occurs: Get medical advice/attention. Rinse skin with water/shower. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention.

Symptoms: Irritation. May cause an allergic skin reaction. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking.

Eye contact

Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice and attention. Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Call a physician immediately.

Symptoms: Serious damage to eyes.

Ingestion

If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious). Do not induce vomiting. Get immediate medical advice and attention. Do not induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately.

Symptoms: Risk of lung oedema.

Immediate Medical Attention

Call a physician immediately.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.
