Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Open and handle containers with care. Observe the provisions of the handling authorization, of the operational radiation protection directive and the DO's and DONT's of the operating procedure. Use an absorbent padding. Do not pipet by mouth. When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Wear suitable one-way rubber gloves at work. Avoid every splash and formation of aerosols. All raw materials of human or animal origin including the samples to be assayed must be treated as potentially infectious.

Storage

Keep container tightly closed. Keep only in the original container. Keep containers according to specifications on the label within the radiation safety area.

Hygiene

When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Wear suitable one-way rubber gloves at work.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

The areas in which radioactive substances are handled shall comply with the requirements of radiation protection regulations according to national laws and standards.

Hands

Wear suitable gloves.

Eyes

Wear eye/face protection.

Respiratory

Required if dust and aerosols are generated.

Skin/Body

Wear suitable protective clothing.
