First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Allow affected person to breathe fresh air. Not expected to present a significant inhalation hazard under anticipated conditions of normal use. Allow affected person to breathe fresh air. Allow the victim to rest.

Skin contact

Not expected to present a significant skin hazard under anticipated conditions of normal use. Remove affected clothing and wash all exposed skin area with mild soap and water, followed by warm water rinse.

Eye contact

Wash immediately with lots of water (15 minutes)/shower. Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Obtain medical attention if pain, blinking or redness persists. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.

Symptoms: pain, blinking or redness

Ingestion

Not expected to present a significant ingestion hazard under anticipated conditions of normal use. Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Obtain emergency medical attention.

Immediate Medical Attention

Obtain emergency medical attention (for ingestion). Obtain medical attention if pain, blinking or redness persists (for eyes).

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

All extinguishing media allowed. Foam. Dry powder. Carbon dioxide. Water spray. Sand.

Unsuitable media

Do not use a heavy water stream.

Specific hazards

Hydrolysis products reduce the flash point.

Instructions

Cool down the containers exposed to heat with a water spray. Use water spray or fog for cooling exposed containers. Exercise caution when fighting any chemical fire. Prevent fire fighting water from entering the environment.

Firefighter Protection

[In case of inadequate ventilation] wear respiratory protection. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye or face protection. Do not enter fire area without proper protective equipment, including respiratory protection.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Evacuate unnecessary personnel. Ventilate area.

Environmental

Avoid sub-soil penetration. Do not allow into drains or water courses. Prevent entry to sewers and public waters.

Cleanup methods

Take up mechanically (sweeping, shovelling) and collect in suitable container for disposal. Soak up spills with inert solids, such as clay or diatomaceous earth as soon as possible. Collect spillage.

Materials: inert solids, such as clay or diatomaceous earth

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Wash hands and other exposed areas with mild soap and water before eating, drinking or smoking and when leaving work. Provide good ventilation in process area to prevent formation of vapour.

Storage

Store in a cool, well-ventilated place. Keep only in the original container. Keep container closed when not in use.

Hygiene

Wash hands and other exposed areas with mild soap and water before eating, drinking or smoking and when leaving work.

Fire prevention

Keep away from sources of ignition.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Ensure good ventilation of the work station.

Hands

Time of penetration is to be checked with the glove producer. Please follow the instructions related to the permeability and the penetration time provided by the manufacturer. Gloves must be replaced after each use and whenever signs of wear or perforation appear. Wear protective gloves. Type: Disposable gloves, Material: Nitrile rubber (NBR), Permeation: 3 (> 60 minutes), Thickness: > 0,35 mm, Standard: EN ISO 374.

Eyes

Chemical goggles or safety glasses. Type: Safety glasses, Field of application: Droplet, Characteristics: With side shields, Standard: EN 166.

Respiratory

No special respiratory protection equipment is recommended under normal conditions of use with adequate ventilation. Ensure there is adequate ventilation. Wear appropriate mask

Skin/Body

No special clothing/skin protection equipment is recommended under normal conditions of use
