First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Assure fresh air breathing. In case of symptoms, seek medical advice and show label or packaging.

Skin contact

Rinse skin with plenty of water or take a shower for about 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Seek medical advice immediately. Show label, packaging or leaflet.

Eye contact

Rince with plenty of water for 10 minutes. Rinse AWAY form the eye that has not been contaminated. If contact lenses are easy to remove, remove them first then clean. Call a doctor. Show label, packaging or leaflet.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth. Call the emergency help centre and ask if ingestion of active coal is advised. Seek medical advice immediately. Show label, packaging or leaflet.

Immediate Medical Attention

Contact the poisons information centre for further treatment in the hospital.

Medical Treatment

Prehospital: symptomatic treatment. Contact the poisons information centre for further treatment in the hospital.

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Foam. Dry powder. Carbon dioxide. Water spray. Sand.

Unsuitable media

Do not use a heavy water stream.

Specific hazards

Extremely flammable liquid and vapour. Heat may build pressure, rupturing closed containers, spreading fire and increasing risk of burns and injuries.

Instructions

Use water spray or fog for cooling exposed containers. Exercise caution when fighting any chemical fire. Leaking gas fire: Do not extinguish, unless leak can be stopped safely. Eliminate all ignition sources if safe to do so.

Firefighter Protection

Do not enter fire area without proper protective equipment, including respiratory protection.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Evacuate unnecessary personnel. Ventilate area.

Environmental

Avoid release to the environment.

Cleanup methods

Soak up spills with inert solids, such as clay or diatomaceous earth as soon as possible.

Materials: inert solids, such as clay or diatomaceous earth
