Identified Uses

Uses advised against
In Belgian law (Occupational Safety Code, Chapter 1, Title V, Art. 37) and in Dutch law (Working Conditions Decree, Chapter 4, Section 6, Art. 4.61), the use of blasting agents with a crystalline silica content of more than 1% is prohibited due to the potential formation of respirable crystalline silica dust. Blasting agents containing more than 1% silicon dioxide may be allowed if they are used outdoors or in hermetically sealed areas when additional safety measures have been taken to protect workers. A special permit from the competent authority may be required.
