First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Move to fresh air in case of accidental inhalation of dust or fumes from overheating or combustion. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

Skin contact

Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash off with soap and plenty of water. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists.

Eye contact

Flush eyes with water as a precaution. Remove contact lenses. Protect unharmed eye. Keep eye wide open while rinsing. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.

Ingestion

Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Do not give milk or alcoholic beverages. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

Medical Treatment

For specialist advice physicians should contact the Poisons Information Service.

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work-

Fire prevention

Normal measures for preventive fire protection.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location. Effective exhaust ventilation system

Hands

Polyvinyl alcohol or nitrile- butyl-rubber gloves Gloves should be discarded and replaced if there is any indication of degradation or chemical breakthrough. Before removing gloves clean them with soap and water.

Eyes

Eye wash bottle with pure water Tightly fitting safety goggles

Respiratory

In the case of vapour formation use a respirator with an approved filter. Respirator with filter for organic vapour In case of mist, spray or aerosol exposure wear suitable personal respiratory protection and protective suit.
