First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Move the affected person away from the contaminated area and into the fresh air. If breathing is difficult, remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Loosen tight clothing such as a collar, tie, belt or waistband.

Skin contact

Wash immediately with plenty of soap and water. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

Eye contact

Rinse immediately with plenty of water (for at least 15 minutes). Remove any contact lenses and open eyelids wide apart. Seek medical attention if irritation develops.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth out with water. Do NOT induce vomiting. If the person is fully conscious, make him/her drink water. Never give an unconscious person anything to drink. If unconscious, place in the recovery position and seek medical advice. Loosen tight clothing such as a collar, tie, belt or waistband.

Immediate Medical Attention

Seek medical attention if irritation develops. If unconscious, place in the recovery position and seek medical advice.
