Take victim to an ophthalmologist. Ingestion of large quantities: immediately to hospital.
Firefighting Measures
Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection
AFFF foam. BC powder. Carbon dioxide. Dry sand. Dry chemical powder. Adapt extinguishing media to the environment.
Solid water jet ineffective as extinguishing medium.
Fire hazard : DIRECT FIRE HAZARD: Combustible. In finely divided state: increased fire hazard. INDIRECT FIRE HAZARD: Temperature above flashpoint: higher fire/explosion hazard. Explosion hazard : DIRECT EXPLOSION HAZARD: Fine dust is explosive with air. INDIRECT EXPLOSION HAZARD: Dust cloud can be ignited by a spark.
Accidental Release Measures
Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection
Mark the danger area. Prevent dust cloud formation, e.g. by wetting. No naked flames. Exposure to fire/heat: keep upwind. Exposure to heat: have neighbourhood close doors and windows. In case of dust production: keep upwind. Dust production: have neighbourhood close doors and windows. In case of dust production: stop engines and no smoking. In case of dust production: no naked flames or sparks. Dust: spark-/explosionproof appliances/lighting equipment. Wash contaminated clothes.
Prevent soil and water pollution.
Clean contaminated surfaces with an excess of water and soap solution. Take up liquid spill into inert absorbent material.
Materials: dry sand/earth/vermiculite or powdered limestone
