First Aid Measures
Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents
Remove from exposure, lie down. Remove to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If not breathing, give artificial respiration.
Symptoms: Difficulty in breathing.
Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water while removing all contaminated clothes and shoes.
Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes.
Clean mouth with water.
Immediate Medical Attention
Get medical attention.
Medical Treatment
Treat symptomatically.
Firefighting Measures
Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection
Water spray. Carbon dioxide (CO₂). Dry chemical. Chemical foam. Water mist may be used to cool closed containers.
Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.
Combustible material. Flammable. Containers may explode when heated.
Firefighter Protection
As in any fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent) and full protective gear.
Accidental Release Measures
Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection
See Section 12 for additional Ecological Information.
Soak up with inert absorbent material
Materials: sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not breathe mist/vapors/spray. Do not ingest. If swallowed then seek immediate medical assistance. Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.
Keep in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Remove and wash contaminated clothing and gloves, including the inside, before re-use. Wash hands before breaks and after work.
Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.
Exposure Controls / PPE
Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment
Wherever possible, engineering control measures such as the isolation or enclosure of the process, the introduction of process or equipment changes to minimise release or contact, and the use of properly designed ventilation systems, should be adopted to control hazardous materials at source. Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas.
Protective gloves. Glove material: Nitrile rubber (Breakthrough time: See manufacturers recommendations, EU standard: EN 374, comments: minimum requirement); Viton (R) (Breakthrough time: See manufacturers recommendations).
Goggles (European standard - EN 166)
When workers are facing concentrations above the exposure limit they must use appropriate certified respirators. To protect the wearer, respiratory protective equipment must be the correct fit and be used and maintained properly. Large scale/emergency use: Use a NIOSH/MSHA or European Standard EN 136 approved respirator if exposure limits are exceeded or if irritation or other symptoms are experienced Recommended Filter type: Organic gases and vapours filter Type A Brown conforming to EN14387. Small scale/Laboratory use: Use a NIOSH/MSHA or European Standard EN 149:2001 approved respirator if exposure limits are exceeded or if irritation or other symptoms are experienced. Recommended half mask:- Valve filtering: EN405; or; Half mask: EN140; plus filter, EN 141 When RPE is used a face piece Fit Test should be conducted
Wear appropriate protective gloves and clothing to prevent skin exposure. Inspect gloves before use. observe the instructions regarding permeability and breakthrough time which are provided by the supplier of the gloves. (Refer to manufacturer/supplier for information) gloves are suitable for the task: Chemical compatibility, Dexterity, Operational conditions, User susceptibility, e.g. sensitisation effects, also take into consideration the specific local conditions under which the product is used, such as the danger of cuts, abrasion. gloves with care avoiding skin contamination.
