First Aid Measures
Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents
Bij spatten op de huid, spoel grondig met stromend water. Als het product is opgedroogd, masseer de huid met medische minerale olie, baby-olie of eetbare olie, was daarna met zeep en water. Raadpleeg een arts als de irritatie aanhoudt.

Medical Treatment
Probeer niet om op de huid vastklevende bitumen te verwijderen. Zodra het bitumen is afgekoeld, richt het geen verdere schade aan en zorgt zelfs voor een steriele laag op het verbrande deel. Tijdens het genezingsproces komt de bitumenlaag vanzelf los, doorgaans na enkele dagen. In geval van een behandeling met solvent, moet de huid vervolgens met water en zeep worden gewassen waarna een terugvettend middel of een huidreinigingscrème wordt aangebracht. Om bitumen van brandwonden te verwijderen, mogen enkel medisch goedgekeurde solvents worden gebruikt daar andere solvents verdere schade aan de huid kunnen veroorzaken.
