Bij blootstelling aan concentraties boven de MAC-waarde moet toereikende, goedgekeurde adembescherming worden gedragen. Om de drager te beschermen, moet de ademhalingsbescherming goed passen en op de juiste wijze worden gebruikt en onderhouden. Grootschalige / gebruik in noodgevallen: Bij ontoereikende ventilatie een geschikt ademhalingsapparaat dragen. Kleinschalige / Laboratorium gebruik: Gebruik een volgens NIOSH/MSHA of Europese Richtlijn EN 149:2001 goedgekeurd gasmasker wanneer de limieten voor blootstelling worden overschreden of wanneer irritatie of andere symptomen optreden. Wanneer RPE wordt gebruik gemaakt van een gezichtsmasker Fit test moet worden uitgevoerd.
