First Aid

Emergency First Aid Measures

Critical first aid procedures for chemical exposure incidents and medical emergencies

Inhalation Exposure

Symptoms:

Roodheid, droge, gebarsten huid.

Eye Contact

Met veel water spoelen.

Symptoms:

irritatie

Ingestion/Swallowing

Getroffene niet doen braken.

Immediate Medical Attention Required

In geval van irritatie van de ademhalingswegen, duizeligheid, misselijkheid of bewusteloosheid, onmiddellijk medische hulp vragen. In geval van irritatie (ogen), medische hulp vragen. Onmiddellijke medische hulp vragen (ingestion). Indien het product ingeslikt wordt, kan het bij verslikken in de longen terecht komen en een chemische longontsteking veroorzaken.

Medical Treatment

De passende behandeling geven (for chemical pneumonia due to aspiration).

Exposure Controls & Personal Protective Equipment

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and required safety equipment

Engineering Controls

Provide effective ventilation to not exceed exposure limits. Use explosion-proof ventilation equipment.

Hand Protection

If prolonged or repeated contact is likely, chemical-resistant gloves are recommended. Wear gauntlet gloves if contact with forearms is likely. Nitrile, minimum 0.38 mm thickness or a material with similar protective barrier with a high performance level for continuous contact conditions, breakthrough time minimum 480 minutes in accordance with CEN standards EN 420 and EN 374.

Eye Protection

If contact is possible, safety glasses with side shields are recommended.

Respiratory Protection

Half-face mask with gas filter Type A filter material. CEN standards EN 136, 140 and 405 provide respiratory masks and EN 149 and 143 provide recommendations for filters to be used. In case of high airborne concentrations, use an approved air-supplied respirator under positive pressure. Air-supplied respirators with escape cylinders are indicated when oxygen concentration is insufficient, gas/vapor warning data is limited, or when air filter capacity/grade may be exceeded.

Skin/Body Protection

If prolonged or repeated contact is likely, chemical and oil resistant clothing is recommended.

Environmental Exposure Controls

Comply with applicable environmental legislation regarding restrictions on emissions to air, water and soil. Protect the environment by taking appropriate control measures to prevent or limit emissions.
