Medical Treatment
Bij verwondingen die veroorzaakt zijn door binnendringing onder hoge druk is onmiddellijk chirurgisch ingrijpen en eventueel sterode therapie vereist om weefselbeschadiging en functieverlies tot een minimum te beperken. Omdat de ingangswonden klein zijn en geen indicatie geven van de ernst van de onderliggende letsels, kan chirurgisch onderzoek nodig zijn om de omvang van het teweeggebrachte vast te stellen. Decompressie, wondreiniging en verwijdering van lichaamsvreemd materiaal vereist onmiddellijk chirurgisch ingrijpen onder volledige verdoving, en uitgebreid onderzoek is van wezenlijk belang.
