De gekozen beschermhandschoenen moeten voldoen aan de specificaties van EU-Richtlijn 89/686/EEG en de norm En 374, die daarvan is afgeleid. Kies beschermingskleding aan de hand van het type, de hoeveelheid en concentratie van gevaarlijke stoffen, en de specifieke werkplek. Het type beschermingsmiddelen is afhankelijk van de concentratie en hoeveelheid gevaarlijke stoffen op de betreffende werkplek.
