First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Breng het slachtoffer in de frisse lucht. Kunstmatig beademen indien nodig.

Skin contact

Kleding verwijderen voor spoelen. Onmiddelijk 15 minutes spoelen met veel water en zeep.

Eye contact

Onmiddelijk 15 minutes met veel water spoelen; onderste en bovenste oogleden openhonden om een grondige spoeling te verzekeren

Ingestion

Indien patiënt bij bewustzijn en geen medische hulp onmiddellijk beschikbaar is, geen braken opwekken

Symptoms: Inslikken van methanol is levensgevaarlijk

Immediate Medical Attention

Medische Dienst/arts raadplegen

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Kleine brand : Poeder, koolzuur, halonen, verneveld water, standaard schuim. Grote brand : Verneveld water, AFFF-schuim, alcoholbestendig schuim met 3% tot 6% schuimdosering

Unsuitable media

Bij grote methanolbranden: volle straal niet effectief als blusmiddel

Specific hazards

Methanol brandt met een zuivere heldere vlam die in het daglicht nagenoeg onzichtbaar is. Concentraties met meer dan 25% methanol in water kunnen nog steeds ontsteken.

Instructions

Boven de wind blijven, gevarenzone afbakenen. Tanks/vaten koelen en/of in veiligheid brengen.

Firefighter Protection

Autonoom ademhalingstoestel met volgelaatsmasker (positieve druk) en geschikte beschermende kleding dragen. De gebruikelijke beschermende kleding voor brandbestrijding biedt onvoldoende bescherming tegen methanol. Niet op gemorst methanol stappen

Niet roken en geen open vuur. Vonkvrije, explosieveilige apparatuur/verlichting gebruiken. Maatregelen treffen tegen elektrostatische opladingen.
