04

First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove to fresh air. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor. In case of unconsciousness keep in recovery position, seek medical advice.

Skin contact

Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. If skin irritation continues seek medical advice.

Symptoms: Dries out skin.

Eye contact

After eye contact rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

Ingestion

Do not induce vomiting – seek immediately medical advice.

Immediate Medical Attention

Seek immediately medical advice for ingestion; seek medical advice for inhalation, skin, or eye contact if symptoms persist.

Medical Treatment

After ingestion (swallowing) the stomach has to be emptied by gastric-lavage under qualified medical observation.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Extinguishing powder, foam, CO₂ or water spray jet.

Unsuitable media

High volume water jet.

Specific hazards

Vapors are heavier than air and may spread along floors. Flash back possible over considerable distance. Vapors can form explosive mixtures with air.

Firefighter Protection

In case of fire use protective respirator with independent air supply (self-contained breathing apparatus). Wear suitable protective clothing. (Full protection).

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Use personal protective equipment. Ensure sufficient ventilation. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not inhale gas/fume/vapor/aerosol.

Environmental

Do not allow product to reach surface water and sanitary sewer system. Avoid subsoil penetration.

Cleanup methods

Absorb with liquid-binding material

Materials: sand, diatomite, acid- /universal binder

07

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Keep container tightly closed. Avoid inhalation of vapor and spray mist. Ensure sufficient air exchange or exhaustion at the workplace.

Storage

Keep container in an area equipped with solvent-resistant floor. Keep container tightly closed and in a dry, cool and well ventilated place. Protect against heat.

Fire prevention

Keep away from sources of ignition – No smoking. Take precautionary measures against static discharge.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

No further data; see item 7.

Hands

Solvent-resistant protective gloves. The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product / the substances / the preparation. Due to missing tests no recommendation to the glove material can be given for the product/ the preparation / the chemical mixture. Material of gloves: The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. As the product is a preparation of several substances, the resistance of the glove material cannot be calculated in advance and has therefore to be checked prior to the application. Penetration time of the glove material: The exact break trough time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.

Eyes

Tightly sealed goggles.

Respiratory

In case of brief exposure or low pollution use breathing filter apparatus, in case of longer and intensive exposure use protective respirator with independent air supply (self-contained breathing apparatus): Recommended filter type: A.

Skin/Body

Impermeable, protective clothing.
