First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. Take to hospital.

Symptoms: Sore throat. Cough. Breathing difficulties. Headache.

Skin contact

Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower. Transport to hospital immediately.

Symptoms: Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking.

Eye contact

First prolonged rinsing with water (contact lenses to be removerd if this is easily done), then take to a doctor.

Symptoms: Pain. Redness. Blurred vision.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Take to hospital.

Symptoms: Caustic, lack of breath, vomiting, blisters on lips and tongue, burning pain in mouth and throat, gullet and stomach.
