First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Take exposed person to fresh air.

Skin contact

Wash the skin thoroughly with water.

Eye contact

Flush eye immediately with water or physiological saline for at least 15 minutes. Remove any contact lenses and open eye widely. If irritation continues, seek medical advice.

Ingestion

Flush mouth thoroughly and drink plenty of water.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Firefighter Protection

No special precautions required.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Refer to handling procedures – use personal safety equipment. Restrict spreading. Collect dust with a type H vacuum cleaner (should comply with BS 5415 as a minimum) or soak with water and sweep up.

07

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Avoid inhalation of dust. The use of high speed cutting tools should be avoided unless suitable dust control or extraction can be demonstrated. Care should be taken when handling heavy boards. The boards are not load bearing.

Storage

Keep in dry place. No special labelling or storage conditions are necessary.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

The work area should be well ventilated if dust is generated during work.

Hands

wear protective gloves

Eyes

Safety glasses suitable for dust protection.

Respiratory

If engineering controls and work practice are not effective in controlling dust emissions then wear suitable, approved personal protective equipment; a mask with dust filter type P2 (for fine dust) may be appropriate. Filters have an expiry date and may need replacement. Read the suppliers' information.

Skin/Body

normal protective working overalls are adequate.
