First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

In case of respiratory of spray mist provide fresh air and consult a physician.

Skin contact

Affected skin, immediately rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 10 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing, observing self-protection. Seek medical treatment: In case of persistent irritation.

Eye contact

Covering the healthy eye rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 10 minutes while spreading lids widely, consult a physician.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth immediately and spit out. Drink plenty of water (only if the person is conscious). Do induce disgorging. Medical treatment necessary.

Immediate Medical Attention

Medical treatment necessary (for ingestion), consult a physician (for inhalation/eye contact).

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Specific hazards

Ambient fire may liberate hazardous vapours. Warming leads to increasing pressure and bursting. Pay attention to the formation of toxic vapors.

Instructions

Select fire and explosion prevention measures according to the surrounding area. In the case of warming or fire cool the container with spray, if possible bring the container out of danger. Stay on the windward side.

Firefighter Protection

The fire fighters should always wear respirators. In large-scale leakage indoor wear self-contained breathing apparatus (isolated).

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Environmental

Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains.

Cleanup methods

Clean contaminated objects and floor.

07

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

During refilling and transfer use preservatives corresponding to section 8.

Storage

During handling and storage keep container tightly closed.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Provide ventilation of the room, acid resistant floor and washing facility. Provide cleaning without possibility of dust formation.

Hands

Use protective gloves. The glove material must be sufficiently impermeable and resistant to the substance (e.g. nitrile rubber).

Eyes

Wear tight-fitting goggles (basket goggles).

Respiratory

At emergence of dried solid residues use particle filter P2, colour code white. In case of high concentrations and/or unclear circumstances wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Skin/Body

The skin must be washed with water and soap before breaks and at the end of work. Wear lab coat.

Environmental

Max. allowed emission (total dust) Mass flow ≥ 0,20 kg/h or mass concentration ≥ 20 mg/m³ (Applies only to the dry residue of the aqueous solution.)
