First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. Give oxygen or artificial respiration if necessary. Get medical advice/attention if you feel unwell.

Symptoms: May cause respiratory irritation.

Skin contact

Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Do not remove clothing if it sticks to the skin. If blisters form on the skin, these should never be burst as this will increase the risk of infection. Wash skin with plenty of water. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention.

Symptoms: Irritation. May cause an allergic skin reaction.

Eye contact

Immediately rinse with plenty of water (for at least 15 minutes). Get immediate medical advice/attention. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Call a physician immediately.

Symptoms: Serious damage to eyes.

Ingestion

Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth out with water. Get medical advice/attention. Make the person rest. Call a poison center or a doctor if you feel unwell.

Immediate Medical Attention

IF exposed or concerned: Get medical advice/attention. Get immediate medical advice/attention. Call a physician immediately.
