H303 Swallowing is not anticipated for larger batteries due to battery size. Irritation to the internal/external mouth areas may occur following exposure to a leaking battery.

First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Move to fresh air.

Symptoms: Contents may be irritating to respiratory passages.

Skin contact

Remove any contaminated clothing and flush exposed skin with copious amounts of running water for at least 15 minutes.

Eye contact

Flush thoroughly with copious amounts of running water for 30 minutes.

Ingestion

Rinse the mouth and surrounding area with tepid water for at least 15 minutes.

Symptoms: Mouth area irritation or burning.

Immediate Medical Attention

Seek immediate medical attention for eye contact. If irritation, injury or pain persists after skin contact, seek medical attention. If irritation persists after inhalation, seek medical attention. Get medical attention immediately for ingestion to rule out the involvement of the gastrointestinal tract.

Suitable media

Use dry chemical, alcohol foam, water or carbon dioxide as appropriate for the surrounding fire. For incipient fires, carbon dioxide extinguishers are more effective than water.
