Emergency First Aid Measures
Critical first aid procedures for chemical exposure incidents and medical emergencies
๐ซ Inhalation Exposure
Supply fresh air. Provide oxygen treatment if affected person has difficulty breathing. In case of irregular breathing or respiratory arrest provide artificial respiration. Use a respiratory bag or breathing device. Seek medical treatment.
Symptoms:
Breathing difficulty, Headache, Spasms, Dizziness, Unconsciousness, Nausea, Irritation. The following applies to cyanogen compounds/nitriles in general: utmost caution! Release of hydrocyanic acid is possible- blockade of cellular respiration. Cardiovascular disorders, dyspnoea, unconsciousness.
๐๏ธ Skin Contact
Immediately rinse with plenty of water. Seek medical treatment.
๐๏ธ Eye Contact
Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. Then consult a doctor.
๐ฝ๏ธ Ingestion/Swallowing
Rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water. Seek medical treatment.
