First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove to fresh air. If breathing has stopped, give artificial respiration. Get medical attention immediately. If breathing is difficult, (trained personnel should) give oxygen.

Skin contact

Wash skin with soap and water.

Symptoms: skin irritation or allergic reactions

Eye contact

Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, lifting lower and upper eyelids. Consult a physician.

Ingestion

Call a physician. Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Immediate Medical Attention

Get medical attention immediately (for inhalation). Consult a physician (for eye contact). See a physician (for skin irritation or allergic reactions). Call a physician (for ingestion).

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Alcohol resistant foam. Carbon dioxide (CO2). Dry chemical. Water spray or fog.

Unsuitable media

Do not scatter spilled material with high pressure water streams.

Specific hazards

No information available.

Firefighter Protection

Firefighters should wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full firefighting turnout gear. Use personal protection equipment.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Cleanup methods

Soak up with inert absorbent material. Pick up and transfer to properly labeled containers.

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Avoid generation of dust.

Storage

Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place.

Hygiene

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

If exposure limits are exceeded or irritation is experienced, ventilation and evacuation may be required.

Hands

Wear suitable gloves. For long term (repeated) contact: 0.35 mm thickness, >=480 minutes breakthrough time, wear protective nitrile rubber gloves. For long term (repeated) contact: 0.5 mm thickness, >=480 minutes breakthrough time, wear protective butyl rubber gloves. For short term contact: 0.5 mm thickness, >=60 minutes breakthrough time, Natural Rubber gloves. For short term contact: 0.5 mm thickness, >=60 minutes breakthrough time, Latex gloves.

Eyes

Tight sealing safety goggles.

Respiratory

No protective equipment is needed under normal use conditions. If exposure limits are exceeded or irritation is experienced, ventilation and evacuation may be required. In the case of dust or aerosol formation use respirator with an approved filter.

Skin/Body

Wear protective gloves and protective clothing.

Environmental

Avoid subsoil penetration. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.
