First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Supply fresh air; consult doctor in case of complaints.

Skin contact

Wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.

Eye contact

Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor.

Ingestion

Rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

CO2, sand, extinguishing powder.

Unsuitable media

Water.

Firefighter Protection

Fully protecting cloths and respiration apparatus.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Environmental

Do not allow to enter sewers / surface or ground water.

Cleanup methods

Absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders, sawdust). Dispose contaminated material as waste according to item 13.

Materials: liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders, sawdust)

07

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

No special measures required.

Storage

Suitable material for receptacles and pipes: Stainless steel. Do not store in copper or copper related containers as it could affect the oil's colour. Protect from exposure to the light. +10°C up to +30°C and without air contact.

Fire prevention

Self-ignition can occur in case of fine hot particles. Self-ignition may occur in case fine particles are absorbed in e.g. sawdust, clothes or insulating material. If absorbed in special oil absorbers or clothes, keep in fire-safe place (self-ignition may occur).

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Hands

The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product / the substance / the preparation / the chemical mixture. Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation. The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. The exact break trough time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.

Eyes

Goggles recommended during refilling.

Respiratory

Not required.
