First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove casualty to fresh air and keep warm and at rest.

Symptoms: Irritation by aspiration

Skin contact

Immediately take off all contaminated clothing. After contact with skin, wash immediately with soap and plenty of water. In case of persistent skin irritation consult a doctor.

Symptoms: Contact may cause transient irritation.

Eye contact

Irrigate eyes with copious amounts of water for at least 10-15 min, holding eyelids apart to ensure thorough rinsing. Protect uninjured eye. Ask for medical advice. If irritation, blurred vision or swelling occurs and persists, obtain medical advice from a specialist.

Symptoms: Contact may cause irritation.

Ingestion

Do not induce vomiting, get medical attention showing the SDS and hazard labelling.

Symptoms: Swallowing large amounts may be harmful to health.

Immediate Medical Attention

In case of accident or unwellness, seek medical advice immediately (show directions for use or safety data sheet if possible).

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

CO2 or Dry chemical fire extinguisher. Water Spray

Unsuitable media

None in particular.

Instructions

Move undamaged containers from immediate hazard area if it can be done safely.

Firefighter Protection

Wear suitable protective clothing (helmet, protective clothings, goggles, fire resistant gloves, boots) and protect respiratory organs (self contained breathing apparatus).

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Remove persons to safety.

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Keep away from sources of ignition. Don't use empty container before they have been cleaned. Before making transfer operations, assure that there aren't any incompatible material residuals in the containers.

Storage

Keep away from food, drink and feed.

Hygiene

Contaminated clothing should be changed before entering eating areas. Do not eat or drink while working.

Fire prevention

Keep away from sources of ignition.

Hands

The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Glove suitability and breakthrough time will differ depending on the specific use conditions. Contact the glove manufacturer for specific advice on glove selection and breakthrough times for your use conditions. Suitable chemical resistant safety gloves (EN 374) also with prolonged, direct contact and other. Recommended material: > 8 hours (breakthrough time): butyl rubber, neoprene, Viton, PVC. Replace damaged gloves.

Eyes

Safety glasses (Conforming to UNI EN 166)

Respiratory

Depending on the potential for exposure, select respiratory protective equipment suitable for the specific conditions of use and in compliance with current legislation. A NIOSH/MSHA approved air purifying dust or mist respirator or European Standard EN 149.

Skin/Body

Use clothing that provides comprehensive protection to the skin, e.g. cotton, rubber, PVC or viton.
