First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove the victim from exposure into fresh air immediately. Blow nose and gargle with water. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Seek medical advice if cough or other symptoms appear.

Skin contact

Wash skin with running water. Seek medical advice if irritation develops and persists.

Eye contact

If you wear contact lenses which can easily be removed, remove them and wash eye with running water for more than 15 minutes. Back side of eyelid should also be washed. Seek medical advice.

Ingestion

Wash out mouth with plenty of water and give 2-4 cupfuls of water or milk to drink. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Induce vomiting. Seek medical advice.

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Carbon dioxide, dry chemical or foam recommended. Apply water spray to cool exposed closed containers.

Specific hazards

Under fire situation, this material may generate COx.

Instructions

Apply water spray to cool exposed closed containers.

Firefighter Protection

Self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and full protective equipment recommended.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Environmental

Prevent the material from entering surface water or sanitary sewer system. Do not discharge directly to a water source. If accidental spillage or washings enter drains or watercourses contact local Environment Agency.

Cleanup methods

Remove spilled material with a bucket or shovel and collect remains with broom.

Materials: bucket, shovel, broom
