First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Move to fresh air in case of accidental inhalation of vapours. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration. Call a physician immediately.

Skin contact

Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water while removing all contaminated clothes and shoes. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. If skin irritation persists, call a physician.

Eye contact

Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and consult a physician

Ingestion

If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label. Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

CO 2, dry chemical, dry sand, alcohol-resistant foam. Water spray. Cool closed containers exposed to fire with water spray..

Unsuitable media

Water may be ineffective. Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire

Specific hazards

Flammable. Risk of ignition. Vapors may form explosive mixtures with air. Vapors may travel to source of ignition and flash back. Containers may explode when heated..

Firefighter Protection

As in any fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent) and full protective gear.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes. Use personal protective equipment. Remove all sources of ignition. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Environmental

Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Should not be released into the environment.

Cleanup methods

Soak up with inert absorbent material. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Materials: inert absorbent material, suitable, closed containers

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Avoid inhaling vapor and/or mists. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Extinguish any naked flames. Do not smoke. Remove ignition sources. Avoid sparks. Electrostatic discharge may cause fire. Ensure electrical continuity by bonding and grounding all equipment. Avoid splash filling. Do not use compressed air for filling, discharging or handling operations

Storage

Must be stored in a well-ventilated area and keep away from ignition and heat sources. Keep away from aerosols, oxidizing agents and corrosives. The vapor is heavier than air. Beware of accumulation in pits and confined spaces. Store in a segregated and approved area. Keep container in a cool, well-ventilated area. Keep container tightly closed and sealed until ready for use.

Hygiene

Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Fire prevention

Extinguish any naked flames. Do not smoke. Remove ignition sources. Avoid sparks. Electrostatic discharge may cause fire. Ensure electrical continuity by bonding and grounding all equipment.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas. Use explosion-proof electrical/ventilating/lighting/equipment. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location

Hands

Wear appropriate protective gloves

Eyes

Wear appropriate protective eyeglasses or chemical safety goggles as described by OSHA's eye and face protection regulations in 29 CFR 1910.133 or European Standard EN166

Respiratory

No protective equipment is needed under normal use conditions.

Skin/Body

Wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent skin exposure
