First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician. Specific treatment (see ... on this label).

Symptoms: Toxic if inhaled. Danger of serious damage to health by prolonged exposure through inhalation.

Skin contact

Rinse skin with water/shower. Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician. Wash with plenty of soap and water. Specific measures (see ... on this label). Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

Symptoms: Repeated exposure to this material can result in absorption through skin causing significant health hazard. Toxic in contact with skin.

Eye contact

Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.

Symptoms: Causes serious eye irritation.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Obtain emergency medical attention. Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician. Specific treatment (see ... on this label).

Symptoms: Toxic if swallowed. Swallowing a small quantity of this material will result in serious health hazard.

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Foam. Dry powder. Carbon dioxide. Water spray. Sand.

Unsuitable media

Do not use a heavy water stream.

Specific hazards

Highly flammable liquid and vapour. May form flammable/explosive vapour-air mixture.

Instructions

Use water spray or fog for cooling exposed containers. Exercise caution when fighting any chemical fire. Prevent fire-fighting water from entering environment.

Firefighter Protection

Do not enter fire area without proper protective equipment, including respiratory protection.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Evacuate unnecessary personnel.

Environmental

Prevent entry to sewers and public waters. Avoid release to the environment.

Cleanup methods

Soak up spills with inert solids, such as clay or diatomaceous earth as soon as possible. Collect spillage.

Materials: inert solids, such as clay or diatomaceous earth

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Handle empty containers with care because residual vapours are flammable. Wash hands and other exposed areas with mild soap and water before eating, drinking or smoking and when leaving work. Provide good ventilation in process area to prevent formation of vapour. No open flames. No smoking. Use only non-sparking tools. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Avoid breathing dust/fume/gas/mist/vapours/spray. Do not breathe dust/fume/gas/mist/vapours/spray.

Storage

Keep in fireproof place. Keep container tightly closed. Store in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.

Hygiene

Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Wash ... thoroughly after handling.

Fire prevention

No open flames. No smoking. Use only non-sparking tools. Keep in fireproof place.
