Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

CO2, extinguishing powder or water jet. Fight larger fires with water jet or alcohol-resistant foam.

Unsuitable media

Water with a full water jet.

Specific hazards

Can be released in case of fire: Carbon monoxide (CO), Carbon dioxide (CO2). Under certain fire conditions, traces of other toxic gases cannot be excluded.

Firefighter Protection

Use self-contained breathing apparatus and protective fire fighting clothing.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

No further data; see section 7.

Hands

Protective gloves. Use gloves approved to relevant standards e.g. EN 374 (Europe), F739 (US). Material of gloves The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Penetration time of glove material The exact break trough time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed. Material of gloves for short term/splash application (10min<BTT<480min): Butyl rubber, BR Nitrile rubber, NBR PVC gloves

Eyes

Safety glasses

Respiratory

Not necessary if room is well-ventilated. Breathing protection in cas of gases / vapors Filter A/P2.
