First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

If breathed in, move person into fresh air. Artificial respiration and/or oxygen may be necessary. Consult a physician. Victim to lie down in the recovery position, cover and keep him warm.

Skin contact

Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash off immediately with plenty of water. Call a physician immediately. Wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Keep warm and in a quiet place.

Eye contact

Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses. Consult a physician.

Ingestion

If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious). Do NOT induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately. Drink plenty of water.

Immediate Medical Attention

Call a physician immediately.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Alcohol-resistant foam, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Dry powder, Water spray jet

Unsuitable media

High volume water jet

Specific hazards

Heating can release hazardous gases.

Instructions

Remove undamaged containers from fire area if it is safe to do so.

Firefighter Protection

In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

In the event of an accidental release the emergency response team must respond based on a risk assessment and use personal protective equipment as appropriate. Do not breathe vapours or spray mist. Evacuate personnel to safe areas.

Small spill

Gently cover the spill with an absorbent towel or pad.

Large spill

Dam up. Soak up with inert absorbent material. Keep in properly labelled containers.

Environmental

Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Should not be released into the environment. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.

Cleanup methods

Soak up with inert absorbent material. Gently cover the spill with an absorbent towel or pad.

Materials: inert absorbent material, absorbent towel or pad
