First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Take victim into open air and lay down quietly.

Skin contact

After contact with the molten product, cool quickly with cold water. Do not pull the solidified product off the skin. Seek expert medical advice immediately.

Eye contact

If possible, remove contact lenses. Rinse the eyes under running water for several (at least 15) minutes while keeping the eye slit open. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor.

Ingestion

DON'T MAKE THEM VOMIT! Rinse mouth and drink plenty of water.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

CO2, powder, foam or water spray. Fight larger fires with alcohol-resistant foam or water spray.

Unsuitable media

Water with full jet.

Specific hazards

No further relevant information available.

Instructions

Cool tanks exposed to danger with water spray.

Firefighter Protection

Wear respiratory protection device not dependent on ambient air. Don full protective coveralls.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.

Environmental

Do not discharge into drains/surface or groundwater.

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Avoid inhalation of vapours and contact with eyes, skin and clothing.

Storage

Store between 0°C and 40°C in a dry, well-ventilated place. Protect from heat and direct sunlight.

Fire prevention

No special measures required.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

No additional data. See section 7.

Hands

Only use protective gloves for chemicals with a category III CE marking. Glove material: The choice of a suitable glove depends not only on the material, but also on other quality characteristics and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Nitrile rubber gloves. Penetration time of glove material: You can find out the exact penetration time from the glove manufacturer; keep it in mind.

Eyes

Safety glasses.

Respiratory

Not necessary.

Skin/Body

Wear suitable protective clothing.

Environmental

Prevent spillages from entering surface water or soil.
