First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Fresh air, rest in half sitting position. Seek medical advice.

Symptoms: Irritating to respiratory system. Cough. Sore throat. Dizziness. Headache.

Skin contact

Seek medical attention if ill effect or irritation develops. Rinse affected area thoroughly with water to remove concentrated product. Remove contaminated clothing.

Symptoms: Irritation, redness, pain. Prolonged or repeated skin contact causes irritation or dehydration of the skin and may cause burns. Vapours may cause skin irritation.

Eye contact

Rinse immediately and for at least 15 minutes with copious amounts of water (also assure adequate flushing under the eyelids and if possible after having removed contact lenses). Bring the victim to an ophthalmist.

Symptoms: Corrosion, redness, pain. Vapours may be irritating to eyes and may cause corneal damage.

Ingestion

Wash out mouth and do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention.

Symptoms: Abdominal pain, nausea. Sore throat. Vomiting.

Medical Treatment

No specific recommendations.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

All extinguishing media can be used. Alcoholresistant foam.

Unsuitable media

Do not use a heavy water stream.

Specific hazards

No data available.

Instructions

Cool heat-exposed product with water spray.

Firefighter Protection

Do not enter fire area without proper protective equipment, including respiratory protection. See Heading 8.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Wear protective clothing, ensure a good ventilation and avoid all sources of ignition. Pump with explosion-proof equipment.

Environmental

Avoid release to the environment.

Cleanup methods

Absorb spillage with sand or inert material and transfer to a safe area and dispose of as chemical waste. If desired rinse remainder with water.

Materials: sand or inert material

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

No smoking. Alcohol drinks reinforce the hazardous effects of this product on the human health

Storage

Store in a cool, well ventilated and fireproof area, in tightly closed original packaging. Do not store in direct sunlight.

Fire prevention

Keep away from sparks, open fire and oxidising agents.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Ensure sufficient ventilation.

Hands

waterproof gloves (natural rubber, butyl rubber or polyethylene are recommended; neoprene and PVC are less suitable). Always wear gloves when using concentrated product and when intensively clearing accidentally released product.

Eyes

Wear safety goggles if there is a risk of splashing. In case of eye irritation, wear a face-covering filter mask (type A).

Respiratory

When exposed to high vapor concentrations wear a respirator for organic vapors (type A).

Skin/Body

When used intensively, wear clothing that cover all parts of the body
