First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

Skin contact

Wash with water and soap as a precaution. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists.

Eye contact

In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If easy to do, remove contact lens, if worn. Seek medical advice.

Ingestion

If swallowed, DO NOT induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water. Obtain medical attention.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.

Unsuitable media

High volume water jet

Specific hazards

Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire. Cool closed containers exposed to fire with water spray. Flash back possible over considerable distance. May form explosive mixtures in air. Exposure to decomposition products may be a hazard to health. Carbon oxides

Instructions

Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment. Use water spray to cool unopened containers.

Firefighter Protection

In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Use personal protective equipment.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Use personal protective equipment. Ensure adequate ventilation. Remove all sources of ignition. Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak. Material can create slippery conditions.

Environmental

Discharge into the environment must be avoided. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Retain and dispose of contaminated wash water.

Cleanup methods

Soak up with inert absorbent material. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly while observing environmental regulations.

Materials: inert absorbent material
