First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

If breathing is difficult, remove to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing.

Skin contact

Remove/take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Wash with plenty of water. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention.

Eye contact

Flush eyes with water for at least 15 minutes while holding eyelids open. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Obtain prompt consultation, preferably from an ophthalmologist. Immediately call a POISON CENTER/doctor.

Symptoms: Causes serious eye damage.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth. Obtain medical attention if symptoms appear or if large quantities have been ingested. Do not induce vomiting unless instructed to do so by medical personnel.

Immediate Medical Attention

Obtain prompt consultation, preferably from an ophthalmologist. Immediately call a POISON CENTER/doctor.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically. Treatment by an ophthalmologist due to possible caustic burn of the eyes may be required.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

As appropriate for surrounding fire.

Unsuitable media

Direct water jet may spread the fire.

Specific hazards

Product is not classified as flammable, but will burn on contact with flame or exposure to high temperature.

Instructions

Fight fire with normal precautions from a reasonable distance. Keep containers cool by spraying with water if exposed to fire.

Firefighter Protection

Fire fighters should wear complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Caution - spillages may be slippery. Ensure operatives are trained to minimise exposures. Ensure suitable personal protection during removal of spillages. Shut off leaks if without risk. Avoid breathing vapours. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Small spill

Allow small spillages to evaporate provided there is adequate ventilation.

Environmental

Avoid release to the environment.

Cleanup methods

Adsorb spillages onto sand, earth or any suitable adsorbent material. Transfer to a container for disposal.

Materials: sand, earth or any suitable adsorbent material

Fire prevention

This product should be kept away from naked flames and other sources of ignition.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Ensure adequate ventilation. Store in a cool/low-temperature, well-ventilated (dry) place away from heat and ignition sources.

Hands

Wear suitable chemical resistant protective gloves for frequent or prolonged operations tested to EN374 with an acceptable permeation test. Contaminated gloves should be carefully rinsed with water before reuse. Breakthrough time of the glove material: refer to the information provided by the gloves’ producer. Recommended: Nitrile rubber Minimum thickness: 0.4mm Protective index 6, corresponding > 480 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374.

Eyes

Use eye protection according to EN 166, designed to protect against liquid splashes.

Respiratory

Respiratory protection is not necessary if room is well ventilated. In case of inadequate ventilation wear respiratory protection.

Skin/Body

Wear suitable coveralls to prevent exposure to the skin.
