First Aid Measures
Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents
Move to fresh air.
Wash skin with soap and water.
Symptoms: Prolonged or repeated skin contact may cause drying, cracking, or irritation.
Wash out immediately with water. If easy to do, remove contact lenses.
Symptoms: Direct contact with eyes may cause temporary irritation.
First aid is normally not required. If greater than 1/2 liter (pint) ingested, seek medical attention.
Immediate Medical Attention
Get medical attention if symptoms persist (inhalation). Get medical attention promptly if symptoms occur after washing (skin/eye). If greater than 1/2 liter (pint) ingested, seek medical attention.
Medical Treatment
Treat symptomatically.
Firefighting Measures
Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection
Water fog. Foam. Dry chemical powder. Carbon dioxide (CO2).
Do not use water jet as an extinguisher, as this will spread the fire.
During fire, gases hazardous to health may be formed such as: Carbon oxides. Rags, steel wool, or waste contaminated with this product may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded.
In case of fire do not breath fumes. Move containers from fire area if you can do so without risk.
Firefighter Protection
Self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing must be worn in case of fire.
Accidental Release Measures
Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection
Keep unnecessary personnel away. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (See Section 8).
Wipe up with absorbent material (e.g. cloth, fleece). Clean surface thoroughly to remove residual contamination.
Stop the flow of material, if this is without risk. Dike the spilled material, where this is possible. Cover with plastic sheet to prevent spreading. Absorb in vermiculite, dry sand or earth and place into containers. Following product recovery, flush area with water.
Avoid discharge into drains, water courses or onto the ground.
Wipe up with absorbent material (e.g. cloth, fleece). Clean surface thoroughly to remove residual contamination. Absorb spill with vermiculite or other inert material, then place in a container for chemical waste. Flush area with water.
Materials: absorbent material (e.g. cloth, fleece), vermiculite or other inert material
