First Aid Measures
Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents
Remove the victim into fresh air. Respiratory problems: consult a doctor/medical service.
Symptoms: EXPOSURE TO HIGH CONCENTRATIONS: Coughing.
Rinse with water. Soap may be used. Do not apply (chemical) neutralizing agents. Remove clothing before washing. Take victim to a doctor if irritation
Symptoms: Red skin.
Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Do not apply neutralizing agents. Take victim to an ophthalmologist if irritation persists.
Symptoms: Redness of the eye tissue. ON CONTINUOUS EXPOSURE/CONTACT: Irritation of the eye tissue.
Rinse mouth with water. Immediately after ingestion: give lots of water to drink. Do not induce vomiting. Consult a doctor/medical service if you feel unwell.
Symptoms: Nausea. Vomiting. Diarrhoea.
Firefighting Measures
Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection
Small fire: Quick-acting ABC powder extinguisher, Quick-acting BC powder extinguisher, Quick-acting class B foam extinguisher, Quick-acting CO2 extinguisher. Major fire: Class B foam (alcohol-resistant), Water spray if puddle cannot expand.
Small fire: Water (quick-acting extinguisher, reel); risk of puddle expansion. Major fire: Water; risk of puddle expansion.
On heating/burning: release of toxic and corrosive gases/vapours (nitrous vapours, carbon monoxide - carbon dioxide).
Cool tanks/drums with water spray/remove them into safety. Dilute toxic gases with water spray.
Firefighter Protection
Gloves (EN 374). Protective clothing (EN 14605 or EN 13034). Heat/fire exposure: compressed air apparatus (EN 136 + EN 137).
Accidental Release Measures
Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection
Contain released product, pump into suitable containers. Plug the leak, cut off the supply.
Scoop absorbed substance into closing containers. Clean contaminated surfaces with an excess of water.
