Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Ensure adequate ventilation. Wear personal protective equipment. Do not breathe vapours or spray mist. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.

Small spill

Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Sweep up and shovel into suitable containers for disposal. Clean contaminated surfaces with an excess of water

Large spill

Dam up. Large spills should be collected mechanically (remove by pumping) for disposal.

Environmental

Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Prevent product from entering drains.

Cleanup methods

Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.

Materials: inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust)
