remove the injured person from the contaminated area and keep him/her in a well-ventilated area. Seek medical attention if necessary.

Symptoms: no hazardous effects are known.

Skin contact

remove contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated parts thoroughly with running water.

Symptoms: no hazardous effects are known.

Eye contact

remove any contact lenses. Wash affected eyes immediately with running water for at least 15 minutes while holding the eyelids open; consult an ophthalmologist if necessary.

Symptoms: possible redness.

Ingestion

rinse mouth immediately and several times with water. If swallowed has occurred and if the victim is conscious, drink plenty of water; seek medical attention.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

the product is non-flammable and non-combustible. Fires involving the product can be extinguished using vaporized water, foam, carbon dioxide or powder extinguishers; if circumstances allow, avoid the use of water to prevent damage and leakage of product.

Unsuitable media

none.

Specific hazards

The product is non-flammable and does not support combustion. When involved in a fire and heated, it decomposes and can emit toxic fumes containing nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide and dioxide, ammonia and formaldehyde.

Instructions

Cool with water the containers exposed to heat and move away containers close to the fire.

Firefighter Protection

Avoid breathing in the fumes.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

In the event of a spill, persons not involved in the emergency response must be evacuated from the affected area. Alert the emergency service and, in the event of an immediate intervention, follow the instructions given by the personnel in charge.

Environmental

Prevent the product from leaking into the environment and flowing into drains, surface water and groundwater.

Cleanup methods

Suck and collect spillage, clean thoroughly with sawdust or sand.

Materials: sawdust or sand

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Loading, unloading and handling operations must be done by skilled staff; possibly adopt a closed-loop system. To minimize occupational exposure may be helpful the use of respiratory protective equipment, clothes, glasses or rubber gloves (see Section 8.2.2).

Storage

Ensure good ventilation of the areas of storage and handling.

Hygiene

Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Storage and handling areas should be well ventilated; provide adequate localized aspirations at points of possible emission of ammonia.

Hands

Chemical-resistant protective gloves conforming to EN 374 standard. Materials also suitable for direct and prolonged contact (recommendation: protection index 6, corresponding > 480 minutes permeation time according to EN 374): butyl rubber, thickness 0,7 mm; nitrile rubber (NBR), thickness 0,4 mm. Observe the glove manufacturer's instructions regarding dwell time.

Eyes

Use splash goggles or face shields complying with EN 166. Do not wear contact lenses.

Respiratory

See Section 8.1.

Skin/Body

Wear protective clothing suitable for full skin protection and safety footwear (e.g. conforming to EN 14605).

Environmental

SAZOLENE SC is classified non-Environmentally Hazardous. However, handling in confined areas protected by containment systems against spillage and local exhaust ventilation systems conveyed to suitable abatement systems must be provided for.
