First Aid Measures
Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents
Remove patient to fresh air - move out of dangerous area. Seek medical help immediately.
Symptoms: Toxic by inhalation. Coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge, labored breathing. Because of breathing vapours at high concentrations symptoms like headache, dizziness, nausea and unconsciousness can occur. Metallic taste. Mental confusion. Disturbances of consciousness.
Immediately remove contaminated clothing. First wipe the skin that came into contact with the product with a dry cloth and then rinse with plenty of water and soap. If symptoms develop and persist, seek medical attention. Wash contaminated clothes and shoes before reuse.
Symptoms: Irritating to the skin. Itching, redness, pain.
Immediately flush eyes with running water, keeping eyelids apart. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If irritation persists, seek professional medical attention.
Symptoms: Causes serious eye irritation. Redness, tearing, pain.
Rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Immediately consult a doctor. Get medical attention immediately by calling a physician or a poison control centre.
Symptoms: May cause abdominal discomfort. May cause nausea/vomiting and diarrhea. Dry/sore throat. Irritates mucous membranes in the mouth, throat, esophagus and in gastrointestinal area. Harmful to health. Aspiration into the lungs can cause chemical pneumonitis. If larger quantities were ingested: Can cause CNS (central nervous system) depression. Change in the haemogramme/blood composition. Change in urine composition.
Immediate Medical Attention
Seek medical help immediately. In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show the label where possible).
Medical Treatment
Treat symptomatically.
Firefighting Measures
Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection
Small fire: ABC powder. BC powder. Class B foam (not alcohol-resistant). Carbon dioxide (CO₂). Major fire: Class B foam (alcohol-resistant), Water spray if puddle cannot expand.
Small fire: Water (quick-acting extinguisher, reel); risk of puddle expansion. Major fire: Water; risk of puddle expansion.
In case of a fire toxic gases can be generated; do not inhale gases/smoke.
In case of fire or heating do not breathe fumes/vapours. Cool containers at risk with water spray. If possible remove containers from endangered area. Use water moderately and if possible collect or contain it. Prevent accumulation of vapours with water spray. Take account of toxic/corrosive precipitation water.
Firefighter Protection
Firefighters should wear appropriate protective clothing (BS EN 469) for firefighters (including helmets (BS EN 443), protective boots (BS EN 15090) and gloves (BS EN 659)) and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) with a full face-piece (BS EN 137). See section 8.
Accidental Release Measures
Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection
Evacuate personnel to safe areas, away from the direction of the wind. Remove ignition sources. Close doors and windows of adjacent premises. Prevent access to unprotected personnel. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do not breathe vapours/mist.
Do not allow product to reach water/drains/sewage systems or permeable soil.
Absorb product (with inert material), collect it in special container and dispose it to a licensed hazardous-waste disposal contractor. Collect residues carefully. Damaged/cooled tanks must be emptied. Clean contaminated area with plenty of water. Collect and dispose of contaminated washing water.
Materials: inert material

Handling and Storage
Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety procedures. Use good personal hygiene practices – wash hands at breaks and when done working with material. Do not breathe vapours/mist. Remove contaminated clothes and wash them before reuse. Do not eat, drink or smoke while working. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes. Wear suitable protective equipment; see Section 8. Always close containers tightly after the removal of product.
Store in accordance with local regulations. Keep in tightly closed container. Keep in a dry place. Keep in dark place. Keep container in a well ventilated place. May be stored under nitrogen. Keep away from heat.
Before use: check for peroxides and eliminate them.
Ensure adequate ventilation. At temperature > flashpoint: use spark-/explosionproof appliances. Ensure proper grounding of the equipment. Keep away from sources of ignition - no smoking. Gas/vapour heavier than air at 20°C. In finely divided state: Use explosively safe equipment (ventilators, lighting, working instruments and devices,...). Use spark-proof tools.
Exposure Controls / PPE
Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment
Provide good ventilation and local exhaust in areas with increased concentration. At temperature > flashpoint: use spark-/explosionproof appliances. Use earthed equipment. Keep away from naked flames/heat. In finely divided state: use spark-/explosionproof appliances. Finely divided: keep away from ignition sources/sparks. Regularly measure the gas/vapour/mist concentration in the air.
Use chemical resistant gloves classified according to standard BS EN ISO 374. The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. The penetration time is determined by the protective glove manufacturer and must be observed. Observe the manufacturer's instructions regarding the use, storage, maintenance and replacement of gloves. In case of damage or at the first signs of wear and tear, change the gloves immediately. Appropriate materials: Butyl rubber (0.7 mm, 480 min, class 6), viton (excellent resistance), polyethylene (good resistance), tetrafluoroethylene (good resistance), nitrile rubber (good resistance), Neoprene (good resistance), PVA (less resistance), styrene-butadiene rubber (poor resistance), Natural rubber (poor resistance), PVC (poor resistance).
Wear tight-fitting protective goggles and face protection (BS EN ISO 16321-1:2022).
Wear a suitable protective breathing mask (BS EN 136) with filter A (BS EN 14387). In case of intensive or longer exposure use self-contained breathing apparatus (BS EN 137). For dust/gas/ vapor concentrations above the applicable filter limit, in case of oxygen concentrations below 17% or in vague conditions, autonomous self-contained breathing apparatus should be used, according to standard BS EN 137, BS EN 138.
Cotton protective clothing and shoes that cover the entire foot (BS EN ISO 20345:2022+A1:2024). Protective work clothing resistant to liquid chemicals (BS EN 14605:2005+A1:2009). At high risk of skin exposure chemical suits (BS EN 13034:2005+A1:2009) and boots may be required (BS EN ISO 20345:2022+A1:2024).
See Sections 6.2, 6.3 and 13. Do not allow product to reach drains, sewage systems or ground water.
